Like a child...

Dear Miranda,

Today is Mother’s Day. It also marks 3 months since you joined mommy in Heaven. It’s bittersweet, to say the least. I hope they celebrate Mother’s Day in Heaven. I hope you get to spend a special day with mommy.

Back down here on earth, I just recently started saying “yes,” without hesitating to think about it, when people who don’t know me ask if I have children. I only have to explain that you’re in Heaven every once in a while.

Daddy loves you. He wishes you were here, with mommy, so that we could all snuggle in bed together this morning and celebrate this special day.

I love you. I miss you. Give mommy a kiss from daddy.

Love,
Daddy

  1. Chad,
I am so sorry for your pain and the loss of Miranda. She will always be a part of you, and you will carry that piece of her close to your heart forever. We have to deal with so much sometimes and at times we cant see beyond our pain. She is a very beautiful Baby. Chad, you would have made a great father, but maybe someday you will get the chance again, it'll be even more special.

  2. My heart hurts for you, today especially. From the time I watched the sun rise, through leading worship and church, until now, I have thought of you and prayed for you and had wet eyes. It was a tough morning to be singing Blessed be the Name and Jesus Bring the Rain. We were talking about Joseph and how he was forsaken by his brothers and framed by Potipher's wife and forgotten in jail. But God had his hand on him throughout all that and that he was never out of God's favor. I know that, like Joseph, God has good plans for you, plans to give you hope and a future. I'm honored to call you my brother!

  3. Lovely that you can answer 'yes' to having children. What a beautiful picture of the two of you.

Beautiful words of truth from your sister. Have prayed for all of you today - for the pain stretches across your entire family...thinking especially of your mothers, who are grieving the loss of a daughter & grandaughter on this special day.

    Blessings to you.

  4. Dear Miranda: Your daddy's love just comes throuh so clearly. I'm glad your daddy answers yes, for you were conceived in love. Continue to whisper to daddy that he's doing the right things and there's no "right way" to grieve.

You've been a father even before you could see those two pink lines in the test...
