Walk in the water...

Dear Miranda,

Daddy went down to the ocean today. He walked in the sand and out into the water. He watched all the other daddies playing with their babies...daddy misses you a lot today. His tears taste like the ocean.

I love you. I miss you. Give mommy a kiss from daddy.

Love,
Daddy

  1. Chad, thought of you today when I heard a song I had not heard in a while. I'm sure you have heard it before, it is called "Bring the Rain" by Mercy Me. Continuing to lift you up in prayer. -Rebecca

  11. Chad, I've comment before but I wanted to share a story with you.
About 45 years ago my brother was born. I, being only 26 don't remember this for obvious reasons. He came into this world very much like Miranda did. He only lived 2 days before going up to heaven. My dad has often told me the heart wrenching story of the son, his only son, he never knew. My dad went on to have 9 daughters, and a very happy marriage with my mom (his second wife). But even after all this time he has a hard time talking about it. He was a young 19 year old sailor that couldn't afford a nice casket for his baby. He rode to point loma cemetery in San Diego with his son in a simple wood box on his lap. My dad moved on with his life, but he still has a very special place in his heart for my brother, it is proof that the wound stops hurting but never quite heals all the way.
